Good news. We received our first reader response to the February edition of National Right to Life News which arrived early this morning in your inboxes. That hopefully is the first of many. If you have some thoughts, please drop me a line at email@example.com.
Of course the latest monthly issue of the “pro-life newspaper of record” is jam packed with stories about the January 20 arrival of the pro-abortion team of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. They wasted no time in beginning their mission to increase the number of abortions in the United States–by starting the process of opening up Title X Family Planning money to the largest abortion provider in American–and internationally–by reversing the Mexico City Policy, the effect of which will be (to quote Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) to “force U.S. taxpayers to fund organizations that promote, lobby for or perform abortion on demand in foreign countries.”
On page one, Jennifer Popik, JD, writes about “Amendment to protect babies born alive fails to advance, foreshadowing larger fights over abortion.” House and Senate Democrats are keen not to provide equal medical treatment to abortion survivors, even those these babies are no longer “fetuses” and justice demands that they receive the same medical treatment a baby born under normal circumstances of a similar gestation age would receive. Jennifer goes on to write about battles to come which pro-lifers are already gearing up to fight.
On that same front page, I write about “Congressional Republicans express ‘unified opposition’ to pro-abortion Democrats’ efforts to repeal the Hyde Amendment.” The Abortion Industry and their patrons in the Democrat party are passionate about wanting the life-saving Hyde Amendment abolished. Pro-life Republicans made it clear they will resist.
On page three, NRL President Carol Tobias reminds us “We are a Movement of Hope.”
As she writes, “I have often said that the pro-life movement is the Movement of Love. We seek to help and protect others simply because those others exist. We are also a movement of Hope. We offer hope to women who are considering abortion, helping them through a difficult time in their lives, and to women who have had an abortion, helping them find peace in their future.”
On Page 4, we pay a final tribute to all the magnificent contributions made by pro-life President Donald Trump. He will be sorely missed.
As you read through the 46-page issue, you’ll find surely find many stories, commentaries, or analyses of particular interest to you. The roster includes a tribute to the late Dr. Mildred Fay Jefferson, the first African-American woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School, who was president of NRL from 1975-1978.
There are inspirational stories aplenty, including Tim Tebow’s powerful message to the (virtual) March for Life. And, of course, a bevy of stories about pro-lifers moving bills forward in state legislatures.
Circling back to Biden/Harris, we quote from many Catholic leaders who find Biden’s support for unlimited abortion nothing short of a scandal. (Biden is routinely described by his fans in the major media as a “devout Catholic.”)
We’ll return later in the week to talk more about the February digital edition of NRL News. Suffice it to say, we have motivational stories by Maria Gallagher and keen analyses by Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon, and much, much more.
