About 9:00 this morning, EST, we sent out the January digital edition of National Right to Life News to our many readers who so faithfully write back to tell me what they think of each and every issue (firstname.lastname@example.org). Your feedback is absolutely, 100% critical to the ongoing success of “the pro-life newspaper of record.”
As you would expect we write at great length about the 2020 elections which culminated with the hugely disappointing election of the pro-abortion tag team of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.
By the way, it comes as no surprise that even though Vogue magazine wrote an unctuous profile of Harris this week, her staff hammered one of the loudest mouthpieces for pro-abortion propaganda anywhere for not running (in their opinion) a sufficiently flattering photo. Needless to say Vogue snapped to attention, groveling for being insufficiently servile, a preview of what we can expect going forward.
Stories about Elections 2020 were all over the 43-page edition—beginning on page one—and what we can expect in Congress. Jennifer Popik, JD, NRLC Federal Legislative Director, wrote an in-depth preview under the headline, “Pro-lifers already gearing up to fight battles in forthcoming 117th Congress.”
Karen Cross, NRL Political Director, wrote the other page one story, “After 2020 elections, pro-lifers already planning for the future.” In conjunction with “Forty-five new pro-life members sworn into U.S. House of Representatives” on page eight, Karen reminds us how well we fared in the House and in many state legislatures.
NRL President Carol Tobias’s page three column—“Going forward: Challenges and Opportunities “–is must reading. Clearly, there are challenges when pro-abortionists are in power, but there are opportunities as well that we can and we will take advantage of.
Very much worth remembering is who these people are: pro-abortion extremists who are so far out of whack with the American public it is virtually certain they will overplay their hand. They can’t help themselves, which is while attacking the Hyde Amendment for saving 2 million lives is among their top agenda items.
Multiplying the number of dead babies…always…is the driving force behind their fanaticism.
In addition to Mrs. Tobias’ encouraging column, as we approach the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Maria Gallagher provides “48 ways the Pro-Life Movement is creating and fortifying a Culture of Life” on page six.
Multiple stories and analyses by Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon, NRL’s Director of Education & Research, can be read on pages 4-5, 23-24, and 39. As always, Dr. O’Bannon, as our Movement’s resident expert on Planned Parenthood, explains how PPFA is attempting to exploit a worldwide pandemic for its own selfish needs. He also offers an up to date summary of abortion statistics and debunks a study pretending to “prove” that “7% of Women Attempt Self-Abortion in their Lifetimes.”
We will go into further depth on Thursday about the January edition, but I would love to encourage you to immediately read, “An interview with the 2020 National Right to Life Video Contest Winner and the woman whose story she told” on page 11. It is a powerful testimony to the damage abortion also inflicts on mothers but a reminder of women and girls with unplanned pregnancies so desperately need a life-affirming support system.
