WV Pro-Life Rally is February 24 at State Capitol

Supporters of West Virginians for Life (WVFL) will gather at the Capitol on Monday, February 24, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the annual Pro-Life Rally Day with the main event, a rally, at noon.

West Virginians for Life will be celebrating the successful passage of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act Bill, HB 4007, whose lead sponsors are Delegate Ruth Rowan in the House and Senator Patricia Rucker in the Senate. WVFL looks forward to Governor Jim Justice signing the bill into law

Gov. Justice is scheduled to address the crowd as are Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Secretary of State Mac Warner. Born-Alive petitions will be presented. Bishop Mark Brennan of the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese will give the invocation, while Pastor Jamie Estep of Elkins Family Worship Center will pronounce the benediction.

National Right to Life Political Director Karen Cross and WVFL President Wanda Franz, Ph.D. will also speak. Additionally, Mary H. Tillman, J.D., Legislative Coordinator for the WV Alliance for Ethical Health Care, will address the Options in Living Wills Bill. Several pro-life legislators will be introduced and welcomed at the podium.

Other highlights include special music and the annual Prayer Processional at 11:30 with walkers carrying crosses.
