NRLC President Tobias to join Sen. Graham at tonight’s State of the Union address

By Dave Andrusko

According to Statista [https://www.statista.com/statistics/252425/state-of-the-union-address-viewer-numbers], last year, 46.8 million people watched President Trump deliver his State of the Union Address. In light of all that is taking place, I’m guessing the numbers will be even larger tonight.

The State is a newspaper published in Columbia, South Carolina. Referring to tonight’s SOTU address, Emily Bohatch and Maayan Schechter wrote

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham will bring National Right to Life president Carol Tobias as his guest to the event. Tobias, a North Dakota Native, has been on the board of one of the largest anti-abortion groups in the U.S. since 1987.

The Seneca Republican chose to bring Tobias because “she is a longtime friend and ally in the pro-life movement,” Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop said.

Likewise, Sen. Graham is truly a longtime friend and ally of our Movement.

Bohatch and Schechter then added

At past State of the Union addresses, Trump has called for legislation championed by National Right to Life, including a ban on late abortion whose supporters argue that fetuses can feel pain.

I will never forget—and I trust anyone who heard President Trump will never forget—what he said on February 5, 2019 in last year’s SOTU address. Pro-lifers will recall that the hideous “Reproductive Health Act” had passed just two weeks before in New York:

There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our nation saw in recent days.  Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth.  These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and their dreams with the world. And then, we had the case of the Governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth.

To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb.  (Applause.)

Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life.  (Applause.) And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: All children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.

We have great pro-life champions in President Trump and Sen. Graham.

Be sure to tune in tonight.
