Valentine’s Day is a day of love; a day set aside to pay special attention to our loved ones and to make sure they know how much they mean to us. But I know that for you and all others in the right-to-life movement, every day is Valentine’s Day, because this is the movement of love.
You do so much to help people you will never meet. You educate your family, friends, neighbors, and community about why innocent unborn children have a right to live. You work with pregnant women who are considering abortion, helping them to realize that choosing life rather than death is so much better for her and her baby.
You are a voice not just for the voiceless unborn children but for the elderly and disabled whose lives are threatened by assisted suicide and rationing of medical treatment.
You work to elect men and women who will pass protective laws, then work with those leaders to pass pro-life laws and defeat pro-death laws.
And you do it all with love in your heart and a smile on your face.
1 Corinthians, chapter 13, tells us that:
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
Every day is Valentine’s Day for us because our love of and for life will never end. It is a pleasure working alongside you in this movement of love. Thank you for all you do for Life!
