The baby’s corpse was found in a shoe box inside a trash bag at the couple’s apartment.

Prosecutors charge that Gillum gave birth to her baby boy, estimated to be 28-29 weeks, in the bathroom of the apartment she shares with Mull, in mid-September. Mull ordered the misoprostol from India.

According to Prosecuting Attorney William C. Hayes, “Gillum gave birth to a male child in the bathroom of the apartment she shared with Mull,” NBC4 reported.

“At no time did either one of them ever call 911 or seek emergency medical treatment for the child,” Hayes wrote in a press release.

The following day, the couple went to Licking Memorial Hospital, according to press reports. After medical staff contacted law enforcement, officers went to the hospital and to the couple’s apartment.

According to reporter Michaela Sumner, Assistant Licking County Prosecutor Jenny Gonzalez-Wells added that “Prior to and following the birth of the child, Mull and Gillum were engaged in text communications. After the birth of the child, neither one of them called 911 nor sought any emergency medical treatment for the child and the child did not live” [https://www.cantonrep.com/news/20200210/ohio-couple-facing-charges-after-dead-baby-found-in-shoe-box].
