Pro-abortion Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is once again siding with the big-money abortion lobby by saying he will veto the popular Down Syndrome Protection Act.

Wolf posted his intentions on Twitter late Wednesday.

The Governor has long-standing ties with abortion giant Planned Parenthood, dating back to his days as a volunteer clinic escort.

The bill is a response to the sky-high abortion rate for babies with Down syndrome. It has been estimated that the vast majority of children in the womb who are diagnosed with an extra chromosome are aborted.

But Wolf is clearly out of step with the majority of duly-elected members of the state legislature. The Pennsylvania state Senate voted 27-22 Wednesday to approve House Bill 321, which bans abortion for the sole reason of a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome.

Previously, on an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 117-76, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives chose to ban the abortion of unborn babies diagnosed with Down syndrome.

PA Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill was among the strong contingent of female lawmakers supporting the bill, calling it common sense legislation.

Speaking to people with Down syndrome, the Senator said, “We believe you have the right to be born and the right to enjoy a full and productive life.”

Another of the bill’s supporters, Senator Scott Martin, said on the Senate floor, “Disability rights begin in the womb.”

When the state Senate passed the measure, Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill noted it was appropriate to consider the bill on National Child Day, calling it a common sense piece of legislation.
