Let’s not make the same mistakes again

By Barth E. Bracy, Executive Director, Rhode Island Right to Life

Editor’s note. This is excerpted from a post from Rhode Island Right to Life.

Dear Friend of Life,

Just over three years ago, I began doing cartwheels and handstands trying to get the attention of the pro-life community in Rhode Island to warn them about a massive renewed threat we faced from Planned Parenthood and their allies. Sadly, the robust pro-life mobilization this past spring ended up being a day late and a dollar short, as the saying goes. Let’s not make the same mistake EVER AGAIN and fail to stop what was a preventable tragedy.

What I need to tell you today — and please picture me doing cartwheels and handstands as I type this — is that in addition to having to fend off Planned Parenthood’s renewed push for taxpayer-funded abortions in Rhode Island, we need to mobilize now to form a coalition against assisted suicide in Rhode Island!

Proponents of assisted suicide are well-funded and well-organized and are preparing to target Rhode Island. At significant expense, Rhode Island Right to Life has organized a free training day for November Saturday, November 23, at Providence College. Spread the word and register today!

On another note, I want to thank all those who attended our Proudly Pro-Life Awards Banquet last night in Providence. The Open Mic Night was so well-received that I anticipate doing more similar events in the future. …

On that note, there a few things I will ask of you again and again and again. Please help mobilize your church by helping people sign up at www.rirtlaction.org so they can be notified and mobilized, at the appropriate time, for critical elections and legislative battles. You can even help them subscribe to our Action Center from their smartphone! Please also like us on Facebook and ask others to do the same. And please save the date now, and spread the word, for our Tuesday, January 21 State House Rally. Please spread the word and stay tuned.

For their lives.
