Five reasons for pro-lifers to be especially thankful this Thanksgiving

By Maria V. Gallagher, Legislative Director, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

Whether your Thanksgiving table includes dozens of people or only a few…whether you’ll be toasting the addition of new family members by marriage or by birth…there are many reasons to be grateful this holiday. Specifically, I can think of five pro-life reasons to be especially thankful this Thanksgiving:

1.) Abortions are at their lowest level ever since the tragic Roe v. Wade decision was issued by the U.S. Supreme Court. While even one abortion is one too many, preborn babies are much safer today than in years past.

2.) A vibrant pro-life movement. From the corridors of state capitol buildings to the White House, pro-lifers are making their voices heard on important public policy decisions.

3.) The strength of pro-life youth. Young people are at the heart of the pro-life movement, as demonstrated each year at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. There, wave after wave of high school and college students pour through the streets of the nation’s capital, proclaiming the truth about abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.

4.) Presidential judicial appointments. Pro-life President Donald Trump is making history through a record-setting number of judicial appointments who will uphold the Constitution, rather than making pro-abortion laws from the bench.

5.) Women—some of whom have had abortions and who now regret them—are leading the charge to show that abortion hurts the female population. These mothers, sisters, and wives are setting the stage for an overturn of Roe v. Wade.

I encourage you to come up with your own list of pro-life reasons to be appreciative this Thanksgiving. Be sure to share the list with those you love.

And raise a glass to celebrate pro-life victories to come!
