Will your tax dollars pay for abortion on Virginia campuses?

By Olivia Gans Turner, President, Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL)

Only days ago, California’s Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new, first of its kind law that will require all tax-payer funded public universities to make chemical abortion available to students.

That’s right, the Governor of California has decided it is reasonable to force the taxpayers of California to pay for campus abortions!

According to a report from the California’s Department of Finance (which objected to the legislation), “the new policy would cost University of California–system schools somewhere between $4.6 million and $7.8 million to initiate, with additional ongoing costs of $2.2 million to $3.3 million beginning in 2023 to operate the program,” Alexandra DeSanctis explained.

The law, S.B. 24, takes effect in two years and will cause countless unborn children to die, all paid for by the people of the Golden State! You can read about it here.

You don’t think that could happen in Virginia? Oh, think again.

If pro-abortion candidates take control of the General Assembly in the election next month, there is absolutely no doubt that the radical pro-abortion agenda that made headlines last winter will have no barrier to passage. Pro-abortion Governor Ralph Northam is waiting with pen in hand to sign every dreadful bill that comes to his desk.

Make no mistake, every protective pro-life law on the books in Virginia will be stripped away quickly, as the abortion supporters in the General Assembly have promised to do!

Abortion numbers in Virginia have been coming down dramatically since 2011 — a 41.5% drop, the largest drop of all fifty states, as recently reported. All that will change if we allow pro-abortion candidates to win at the polls. Your vote this November 5th is vitally important to protecting the unborn and other innocent human life in the next Session.

Pro-abortion members of the General Assembly from both the House and Senate made it very clear in a press conference last January that they understood that all they needed to do to get their deadly agenda across was to change a handful of seats in both houses. The slim one vote pro-life majority in both Chambers hangs in the balance this November. Will you stand up and stop their dreadful plans?

Theses election in Virginia are so important that National Right to Life Committee has joined VSHL in endorsing every pro-life candidate on our list. Please go to this link to see that list.

Virginia must not go the way of California or New York. We must defend our pro-life laws and work to pass more. Your support is essential right now.
