NRL News Today readers will recall how enthusiastically we responded to Viable: The Truth Presented in One Act, a play that early comers to the 2019 National Right to Life Convention in Charleston, South Carolina were able to enjoy. Good news to those who were unable to attend.
In its first presentation sponsored by an NRLC affiliate, beginning later this month, Viable will be making its way across Arkansas. It is the first, but we are sure not the last affiliate to introduce this remarkable stage play to a pro-life audience.
NRLC urges every state affiliate and chapter to consider sponsoring Viable in their state. It is that powerful.
All venues are, of course, welcome, but the initial exposure will begin with churches. There the audiences will see a dramatic presentation of a mother’s struggle with guilt, shame and regret over an abortion 30 years prior and the unforgettable moment when she finds forgiveness, mercy and grace in Jesus Christ.
Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life, told NRL News Today, “It’s time that the truth be told about the pain and torment that a woman endures after abortion.” Mimms added that she was “thrilled that Arkansas Right to Life could sponsor the Arkansas tour of Viable in our state and I encourage everyone to try and get to a performance.”
There will be no cost to attend the play, and post-abortion information and volunteers will be available after the performance. A love offering will be taken.
The Arkansas Tour begins in Springdale on Friday, September 27th at 7 p.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church Parish Hall 1386 S. West End Street, followed by Jonesboro, Saturday September 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Awaken Church 2101 Fowler Avenue .
The tour then comes to Little Rock on Sunday, September 29th for a 6:30 p.m. performance at Covenant Presbyterian Church #1 Covenant Drive off of Chenal Blvd. Before leaving the state there will be a final performance in Texarkana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30th at Oaklawn Baptist Church 2918 New Boston Road.
Viable is produced in association with Christian Creative Media by writer/producer/director John Hoover, Ph.D. “I was deeply moved at the powerful and realistic portrayal of the three characters on this subject that is taboo in our society” said Mimms, who saw the presentation prior to the NRLC convention. “Millions of women and men suffer and I feel it is important that as many see Viable as possible and receive healing.”
