The June digital NRL News: Something for Everyone!

By Dave Andrusko

The highlight of my month as NRL News/NRL News Today editor is the 24 hours after we published the once-monthly National Right to Life News. It’s not just that our readers are so generous—they always are—it’s that that is the time I receive the first wave of thoughtful feedback which helps me understand what people especially enjoyed reading

For example, there were interesting comments about a dominate theme in the June issue: the Democrat Party has not only thrown caution to the wind on abortion but also any pretense at “moderation.”

Sure, we believe in abortion on demand through 40 weeks—and why wouldn’t we? A woman’s right to abortion is either unconditional –limitless—or it is not. In fact, if the baby happens to survive, what (if anything) ought to be done should be a decision made by the woman and her abortionist, er, doctor. (See stories on pages 1, 2, 8, 12, 19, and 25.)

On a more optimistic and joyful note, we have numerous stories the complement one another: NRLC’s updating national convention in Charleston, South Carolina [www.nrlconvention.com]; the beginnings of the 2020 political cycle; and the ongoing efforts of the Trump Administration to do everything in its power to rescue a Culture of Life from the Culture of Death. (See pages 1, 3, 6, 17, and 29.)

We discuss the latest anti-life machinations of Planned Parenthood but also a brave teenager who gave life to her baby and graduated as valedictorian with over a million dollars in scholarships offered to her. There is the invidious movement of assisted suicide but also a huge victory when the AMA retained its official position of opposition to assisted suicide.

It’s a wonderful 39 page issue which I am counting on you to pass along. At the same time, I eagerly look forward to your continued feedback.
