SB179 Worse Than Anyone Thought

Gives Cover To Illegal, Untrained Abortion Providers and Suppliers

News stories reveal that there is a growing network of illegal abortion providers in America with no medical training helping women to abort with handheld abortion devices, tubing and Mason jars, illegally obtained prescription drugs as well as herbal concoctions they’ve picked up off the internet and, who knows where else? You can read about it here, here and here.

Incredibly, Senate Bill 179 (SB179) is worse than anyone thought. It would remove a statute prohibiting these witches brews by removing NRS (Nevada Revised Statutes) section 201.130 Selling drugs to produce miscarriage; which says, “Every person who shall manufacture, sell or give away any instrument, drug, medicine or other substance, knowing or intending that the same may be unlawfully used in procuring the miscarriage of a woman, shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor.”

If SB179 passes, it could be legal for just about anyone to peddle home abortion kits, and home remedies and techniques learned on You Tube to cause abortion.

SB179 is a descent into pre-modern quack medicine and we won’t be surprised if supporters fight to make it part of sex education in public schools. Please help us by contacting the Senators below to help stop SB179.
