Kudos to Joe Schoffstall, writing for the Washington Free Beacon. Had it not been for his astute post, who knows how long it might have been before we learned that the daughter of pro-abortion billionaire George Soros had cut a half-million dollar check to “Planned Parenthood Votes,” the New York-based Super PAC affiliated with Planned Parenthood.
Schoffstall says that according to FEC records, Andrea Soros Colombel made the $500,000 donation on August 1. Two additional important details put the contribution in context.
- “The donation accounts for more than a quarter of the money that the group has raised so far this year, which shows $1.7 million in contributions between January and the end of August.” And
- “Andrea’s contribution was the only one the group received throughout the entire month of August. Only 11 other donors have given to the group this year.”
This was not the first time she’d helped out PPFA’s political arm. Last year Andrea Soros Colombel gave Planned Parenthood Votes $1.25 million, according to the Washington Free Beacon story.
The Soros family has been major underwriters of Planned Parenthood’s political arm, particularly during the 2016 election cycle. “In addition to Andrea, George Soros gave a $1 million to Planned Parenthood Votes last year,” Schoffstall explains. “Jonathan Soros, the chief executive officer of JS Capital Management LLC and George’s son, gave two donations for a combined $2 million to the group.”
Since Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton were and are joined at the hip, it’s not surprising that the Soros family dumped major money into Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign. For example,
Andrea also gave $50,000 to the Hillary Victory Fund, a joint fundraising effort between Clinton’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and more than 30 state Democratic parties, records show. She added $33,400 to the DNC and $25,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Andrea also gave tens of thousands to a number of Democratic campaigns and state parties.
