Calling it a “game-changer” in the worldwide life-affirming effort, Heartbeat International president Jor-El Godsey unveiled a new pregnancy center management system, Next Level CMS, April 20 at Heartbeat International’s 2017 Annual Conference in Chicago.
Godsey and his team designed Next Level with the goal of gathering the information tracked at over 5,000 pregnancy help locations throughout the world, including more than 2,600 in the U.S. Currently the effectiveness of services offered at pregnancy centers and ultrasound-equipped medical clinics is limited to the local level, keeping larger trends from emerging and life-affirming ministries from taking advantage of a wider knowledge base.
Next Level, Godsey says, is a major step forward to solving that problem.
“Our life-saving, community-renewing work is too important to rely upon individual anecdotes and localized solutions,” Heartbeat International president Jor-El Godsey said. “We know pregnancy help organizations all over the world are doing incredible work, and now is the time to pool our information in a way that powers our movement forward into a new day of effective care.”
With a paperless, tablet-based design that allows pregnancy help center staff and volunteers to input and update client information into a dynamic, real-time database, Next Level gives local pregnancy centers the ability to securely access their own key metrics in the context of the larger movement, which started in North America in the late 1960s.
Called into existence by local pregnancy centers in 1971—two years before Roe v. Wade legalized abortion on-demand in the U.S.—Heartbeat International is the largest network of local organizations in the world, with over 2,100 locations all over the globe.
Heartbeat International’s 46th Annual Conference, where Godsey revealed Next Level, attracted over 1,200 pregnancy help leaders from 22 countries outside the U.S.
“The question we keep asking ourselves is, ‘How can we make the pregnancy help movement stronger?’” Godsey said. “Every local pregnancy help effort serves its community in unique ways, but there is a larger body of evidence-based results we’re after. We’ve always believed we’re better together, and Next Level is a major step forward to putting this conviction into practice.”
