Before we bid farewell to 2016, I would like to nominate the following for People of the Year–those who through their extraordinary efforts have championed the cause of life in the last twelve months:
–Mothers who triumphed over profound adversity to give birth to the Newborn Class of ’16;
–Fathers who offered steadfast support and love to the mothers of their preborn children;
–Grandparents who, after retiring from the workforce, took on new careers as caregivers for little ones;
–Aunts and uncles who offered free babysitting for the newest members of their extended families;
–Pregnancy center staffers who provided comprehensive counseling, friendship, and hope to pregnant women and their families;
–Women who help other women find healing and peace after losing a child to the tragedy of abortion;
–Public officials who boldly and courageously set policies and pass laws offering greater protection for preborn children;
–Disability rights activists who tenaciously fight against dangerous legislation which would legalize doctor-prescribed suicide;
–Parents of children with special needs who reach out with resources for pregnant women whose preborn children have been diagnosed with Down syndrome;
–Volunteers who selflessly give of their time to promote greater respect for innocent human life in their communities;
–Leaders of National Right to Life and its state affiliates, who work unceasingly toward the day when the incredible injustice of Roe v. Wade will be righted and every child in America will have a chance to live;
–The behind-the-scenes crew who, through their sacrificial gifts and ardent prayers, are setting the stage for an end to Roe.
You may never make it to the cover of “Time” magazine…but the child you helped save just might!
