Pro-life Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.)
As he did in February in the first presidential primary held in the South, pro-life Donald Trump swept to victory in South Carolina early this morning.
Pro-life incumbent U.S. Senator Tim Scott rode the wave of Republican success, winning his first full six-year term. Sen. Scott was appointed in 2013 to fill the unexpired term of Senator Jim DeMint who resigned to become President of the Heritage Foundation.
Sen. Scott is the first African-American senator from South Carolina since Reconstruction and the only African-American Republican in the U.S. Senate.
The SCCL PAC, the federal political action committee of South Carolina Citizens for Life, underpinned the National Right to Life Committee’s support for Mr. Trump and endorsed the Trump-Pence ticket.
SCCL PAC also joined NRLC’s endorsements of six pro-life incumbent congressmen, all Republicans: Mark Sanford, Joe Wilson, Jeff Duncan, Trey Gowdy, Mic Mulvaney, and Tom Rice.
At the state level, LIFEPAC, the South Carolina Citizens for Life state political action committee, also endorsed four candidates for the state Senate including two incumbents who won.
LIFEPAC endorsed 15 candidates for the state House. All were elected or re-elected.
Of the total 27 endorsed federal and state candidates, two are Democrats.
Twenty five of the 27 endorsed pro-life candidates (including the two Democrats)won.
A wonderfully successful night for unborn babies.
