Trump Administration reiterates promise to nominate Supreme Court justice only from previously disclosed list of candidates

conway  My apologies, yesterday got away from me and I did not post about an important reassurance from incoming President-elect Donald Trump. As POLITICO wrote .

President-elect Donald Trump is “committed” to only nominating a Supreme Court justice from his previously disclosed list of potential additions to the high court, his campaign manager said Wednesday.

As the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Trump released a list of 11 potential nominees in May. He expanded his potential selection pool in September with 10 additional names.

“You’ve seen the list of 21. The list has not changed,” Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told reporters Wednesday. “President-elect Trump has committed to choosing his Supreme Court justices, particularly the vacancy created by the untimely death of Justice Scalia. He’s committed to choosing from that list of 21.”

This is significant for several reasons.

First, Kellyanne Conway is a pro-lifer of long standing, someone who has worked with National Right to Life in the past. She is rightfully credited with help right the Trump campaign which was floundering and is expected to have an important position in the new administration. Hearing the assurance from her lips gives that promise extra weight.

Second, pro-lifers are very satisfied with the list of names. They bear out what Trump said repeatedly: he would nominate only pro-lifers to fill openings on the Supreme Court. Right now the High Court is at 8 members because of the unfortunate passing of Antonin Scalia. Trump has said many times that Scalia is the model for the kind of justice he would nominate. Over the next four years Trump could have the opportunity to nominate two or more additional justices.

Third, as we’ve talked about on numerous occasions, the Media Elite is fuming because it could not elect pro-abortion Hillary Clinton. They will continue to try to destroy the Trump Administration before it even officially begins. Part of that plan is to try to separate constituencies that elected Trump, such as the Pro-Life Movement, from the 45th President.

We must never allow that to happen.
