MCCL’s second annual pro-life leadership camp for young people took place in June. Camp Joshua, held this year on Lake Koronis in Paynesville (west of the Twin Cities in central Minnesota), offered high school students four days of pro-life education and fun.

“The goal is to inform these students about right-to-life issues and teach them how to make a difference,” said MCCL Camp Director Jennifer Kistler. “We want to equip young people to be the pro-life leaders of the future, and to do so as part of a fun camp experience that includes outdoor activities and getting to know other students.”

Wide-ranging education

Instruction at the camp spanned the issues of abortion, assisted suicide and embryo-destructive research. Educational sessions covered topics like prenatal development, the history of abortion, pro-life persuasion, the abortion industry, legislation, pro-life student groups, and how to stay involved in the pro-life movement.

“I thought it was packed full of information,” wrote one student afterward. “This [camp] made me realize how terrible this problem really is.”

“I knew before that I would be able to join a pro-life group in college, but I didn’t know what I could do [while still] in high school,” said another.

To fully align with MCCL’s pro-life mission, next year’s camp will be renamed Life Leadership Camp. Set for July 23-26, 2017, it will continue the tradition of training young pro-life leaders.

Life Leadership Camp is open to high school students who will be entering grades 9-12 or who will be college freshmen in the fall of 2017. Use the coupon on this page to share your interest with MCCL!
