Sixth-grader with Down syndrome lands TV commercials, shares message of kindness

In a culture where much of what is broadcast on television is dispiriting, the presence of a sixth-grader with Down syndrome represents a welcome and joyful respite. Lily Moore is a young girl with Down syndrome who is the subject of national television commercials for a major corporation. Her message of determination and kindness is an inspiration to many.

Lily, an individual with a condition that differentiates her from the majority of people, has learned to overcome adversity in her young life. Her gracious attitude is contagious. Lily concurs with her mother’s assertion that “everyone deserves love and kindness,” a sentiment that Lily has experienced firsthand, recognizing the intrinsic value of these qualities in life.

On the social media platform Facebook, Lily has publicly disclosed her practice of assembling bags of food and toiletries for distribution to homeless individuals whom she encounters in her daily life. She is currently engaged in efforts to solicit donations from the broader community with the objective of expanding the scope of her charitable activities.

“Lily is very determined,” says her mom. “She doesn’t let ‘No’ stand in her way. It makes her who she is.”

I would like to express my gratitude to Lily for her illuminating contributions to our collective understanding.
