Wednesday proved to be one of those days that make it particularly wonderful to be a pro-lifer.
The day before South Carolina’s Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H3114) cleared the final two hurdles in the South Carolina House and moved on to Governor Nikki Haley for her expected signature. That will increase to 14 the number of states that intend to protect babies capable of experiencing excruciating pain when aborted.
Also on Tuesday, the Louisiana legislature sent Gov. John Bel Edwards the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Act which had just passed the state Senate 35-2. The measure is already law in Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Mississippi, and (most recently) Alabama.
This afternoon, NRLC’s Executive Director, Dr. David N. O’Steen, was interviewed by EWTN (the Eternal Word Television Network). Dr. O’Steen explained to Jason Calvi, a reporter from EWTN Nightly News, how these two laws are National Right to Life’s highest state legislative priorities and how our state affiliates are looking forward to passing these–and other–pro-life measures.
EWTN remains a wonderful source of pro-life news and NRLC is grateful for the opportunity to work with them.
