There was never any “right” time to post the September digital edition of National Right to Life News. We wanted to cover most of the latest and mostly very encouraging developments on Capitol Hill before we went online.
And today is that day. You can read the entire 50-page issue at www.nrlc.org/uploads/NRLNews/NRLNewsSept2015.pdf.
If ever was there an edition of the “pro-life newspaper of record” that covered the full panoply of right-to-life issues, this is it. Name it and you will likely find at least two stories.
We have many stories about pro-life initiatives introduced in the House and/or passed; and in the Senate, where a determined minority thwarted (for now) the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Our readers love to read about babies who “beat the odds.” We have five such stories, including the wonderful news that more extremely premature babies are surviving with minimal or no injuries.
The September issue offers multiple stories about the 2016 race for President, including coverage of the two Republican debates and the faltering campaign of pro-abortion Hillary Clinton. You will want to share them with pro-life friends.
If you want to see how much the public opinion needle has moved in a pro-life direction, see page 19 (“CNN poll finds that 58% believes abortion should be illegal in most circumstances”).
We also document the best efforts of the pro-assisted suicide forces to pass laws or win cases from sympathetic judges. With the huge exception of California, where Gov. Jerry Brown is weighing whether to sign such a bill, they have been repulsed.
And no edition would be complete without discussing the impact of the ten undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress where Planned Parenthood officials showed their true, anti-life colors.
There is much more that we will preview in the next couple of days.
