This important bill (HB2321) will prevent abortions in Virginia after the point in pregnancy when medical science has determined that an unborn child can feel pain. These unborn babies should be protected under the law from the excruciating pain caused by abortion.
“Pro-life Virginians have done so much to move this Commonwealth to becoming one that respects and saves even the smallest and most vulnerable lives, “said Olivia Gans Turner, president of the Virginia Society for Human Life. “Recent Virginia statistics indicate that abortion rates are coming down. Many of those numbers reflect the effect of the reasonable and protective laws we have seen passed in the General Assembly.”
Gans Turner added, “We continue to face new challenges to ensure that innocent lives are once again protected under the law. Unborn children and their mothers are still threatened by aggressive and dangerous abortion promoters throughout Virginia.”
She concluded, “The passage of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act will save these precious unborn babies from a horrific death at the hands of abortionists.”
