Last week, a small handful of congresswomen and men did something absolutely unconscionable.
These lawmakers claim to be “pro-life,” and they were elected to Congress in part because they promised their constituents they would support laws to save the lives of unborn babies.
But despite their solemn promises to their pro-life constituents and more important, to the unborn, they ganged up last week to sidetrack for now the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This humane bill would ban abortions when an unborn baby is developed enough feel terrible pain during an abortion – and if you can’t vote for such a humanitarian no-brainer of a law to protect the unborn, you can’t be trusted to vote for any pro-life legislation.
Tragically, something similar has happened in a handful of states where we’ve worked to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Although we’ve passed the law in 10 states, and the law is in force and currently saving babies from horrific painful late abortions in virtually all of those states, we could have passed the law in additional states had a handful of governors and legislators not betrayed the unborn and helped kill the bill.
We need to send a message loud and clear to all “pro-life” representatives who ask for our vote, but who betray the lives of vulnerable unborn babies when they get in office: If you vote or work behind the scenes to allow the slaughter of abortion to continue, you will hear from pro-life voters loudly and clearly at the polls.
The National Right to Life Victory Fund thanks the U.S. House leadership and those who stuck with unborn babies and who have vowed they will ultimately get a vote on this important bill.
But the Victory Fund exists to elect pro-life representatives who will stand unwavering for the unborn, not the kind who metaphorically stabbed a knife in the back of all the pro-lifers who voted for them . . . and the unborn babies whose defenders they had promised to be.
Please help us send a message to all elected officials who say they’re pro-life to get your vote, but who then work against pro-life when the babies need them the most.
Your donation of $500, $250, $100, or $50 will be used in both primary and general elections to elect pro-life officials who will stand strong for the unborn, not give them lip service in November, and forget about them when it really counts.
Please help us send a very strong message to elected officials that pro-lifers across America demand pro-life actions, not just words. Your donation of any amount will help make our message heard loud and clear . . . and that will help us pass more laws to protect the unborn!
