It made for a very interesting and hectic Friday: compiling our daily National Right to Life News Today stories and putting the finishing touches on the post-election issue of the monthly digital edition of National Right to Life News. Lot of jumping back and forth, but both crucial sources of pro-life information were online by mid-afternoon.
You can read the entire 34-page issue at www.nrlc.org/uploads/NRLNews/NRLNewsNov2014.pdf
Today we are reprinting Carol Tobias’ page three presidential column. The headline asks, “Is there a war on pro-life women?” Yes, there most assuredly is as her column documents.
So what can you expect to find in the post-election issue of the “pro-life newspaper of record”? To begin with, 32 stories and columns.
Election coverage? You betcha. You’ll find summaries and overviews and analysis and numbers in stories appearing on pages 1-3, 6-7, 10-11, and 14.
But there are other stories that will stir your soul. For example Garth Brooks’ tender ballad simply titled “Mom.” And the courage of athlete Lauren Hill, facing terminal brain disease, who is an example of courage and moxie and refusal to give.
And just at deadline we were able to add the incredibly poignant story of Chris Picco. Chris had just lost his wife when she mysteriously died in her sleep after deliver their son, Lennon James, at 24 weeks.
Lennon was in serious trouble from the get-go and Chris played songs on his guitar to his baby boy. When Lennon died at four days old, the video of Chris playing to Lennon went viral. (If you haven’t seen it, please see it here.)
There is much more in the edition that we will talk about in the days to come.
Please read the issue and pass stories (or the entire edition!) to pro-life family, friends, and colleagues.
