As NRLC convention director Jacki Ragan explained yesterday, we are only weeks away from the pro-life educational event of the year: the annual NRL convention which this year is being held in Louisville June 26-28.
In addition to all the workshops and general sessions and Prayer Breakfast and closing Banquet, pro-lifers should not miss the annual meeting of the Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change, which is open to the public, and which takes place the night before the convention begins.
The speakers will address three inter-related topics which are both current and very important:
The Myth that Abortion is Safer than Childbirth;
The Relative Safety of Abortion vs. Childbirth: A Focus on
Psychological Morbidity and Mortality; and
The Mis-Use of the Concept of “Safe Abortion” in the
International Debate over Women’s Health.
And the speakers are not only committed pro-lifers, but also experts, in every sense of the term. They are
Byron C. Calhoun, M.D., FACOG, FACS, MBA
Professor and Vice Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,
West Virginia University, Charleston, WV
Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D., Developmental Psychology
Associate Professor, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH.
Donna Harrison, M.D., Obstetrics & Gynecology, Executive Director and Director of Research and Public Policy, American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG).
The MC for the event, which takes place at Wednesday, June 25, at 8:00 pm at the Galt House Hotel, is Wanda Franz, Ph.D., President, Association for Interdisciplinary Research In Values and Social Change.
