Pro-abortion President Barack Obama
I didn’t write yesterday about President Obama’s mysterious reading of the Gettysburg Address. If the President was the only one to choose to omit “under God” among all the people who participated in Ken Burns’ project to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the most famous speech in American history by reading it, well that’s between him and the One whose name he omitted.
But the President could not find time to attend the anniversary celebration which took place just 64 miles from the White House? To go to honor a battlefield where there were 51,000 casualties, including 8,000 deaths, when the fighting was over?
The National Journal’s Ron Fournier tweeted Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, “Curious, @pfeiffer44, why not honor Gettysburg with a presidential visit?“ To which Pfeiffer responded, “It didn’t work schedule-wise.”
What was the President doing on this historic day? George Condon of the National Journal explained:
“Instead of going to Gettysburg, he will go to the Four Seasons Hotel to address The Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual meeting and talk about the economy. In his place, he has dispatched little-known Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell to the ceremonies. She will be joined there by [former] Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett.”
Wow. With that kind of tin-ear, no wonder the President’s approval number stands at 37%. (Se “President Obama’s approval number down to 37%, a drop of nine points in one month,” http://nrlc.cc/1ivNj9x.)
