National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias begins Wednesday’s edition of PLP with an important and life-affirming message:
“The pro-life movement is a uniquely personal movement. It is a movement that must wrap its arms around fear, confusion, hopelessness, poverty, and a host of powerful emotions. One of the most important things we can do as pro-lifers is learn to meet the needs of women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant.”
And that “uniquely personal movement” is what Mrs. Tobias elaborates on today at www.prolifeperspective.com. She uses the story of Maria to make a number of hugely important points that help us understand why abortion-minded women can, and do, change their minds.
For example, when “Maria” inadvertently comes into a Crisis Pregnancy Center, she is not upset. And then the key: “She was not particularly interested in what the councilor had to say because she was pretty sure that she wanted an abortion. But she had persistent nagging doubts about her decision to abort.”
This is the case with so many women, which is why the Abortion Industry is dead set against having any time for reflection. Given even a little time, those doubts may win out and, in the process, life prevails over death.
And then the reality of what she is contemplating sets in, because Maria sees an ultrasound of her baby, and what was an abstraction suddenly becomes a real live baby.
Mrs. Tobias reminds us that as pro-life individuals we can play an immensely important role. Helping a woman in crisis realize she is not alone, that there are people who care about her, can make all the difference in the world.
Mrs. Tobias concludes today’s broadcast with a reminder of just how important you are.
“Everything we do – no matter how small it may seem – makes a difference in the lives of mothers and their unborn children. And we must always be prepared to respond compassionately with facts and assistance.”
