Romney Well Ahead on Eve of Nevada Caucuses

I’m ending this week’s edition of NRL News Today with a very, very  brief look at tomorrow’s Nevada GOP caucuses. By all accounts, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has an overwhelming lead over his three Republican presidential rivals.

A  poll released Thursday morning by the Las Vegas Review-Journal had Gov. Romney at 45% and former Speaker Newt Gingrich at 25%, former Senator Rick Santorum at 11%, and Rep. Ron Paul at 9%. A Public Policy Polling survey released this morning had him even further ahead—at 50%–with Gingrich again at 25%, Paul at 15%, and Santorum at 8%. According to PPP

“He’s winning voters describing as ‘very conservative,’ a group he’s had huge amount of trouble with in other states, by a 43-34 margin over Gingrich. He’s also winning men, women, Hispanics, whites, and every age group that we track. This will be a pretty thorough victory for him.”
