NRLC President Carol Tobias

As we near the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, this week on Pro-Life Perspective National Right to Life President and PLP Host Carol Tobias devotes all five episodes to one of the most promising legislative initiatives of the past few years: the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Five states have already passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, based on a model provided by the National Right to Life Department of State Legislation.

Last year, working with our state affiliates, National Right to Life brought to national attention the pain that the unborn child experiences during an abortion. Mrs. Tobias explains. These groundbreaking laws question the foundation of Roe v Wade and protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion after the point at which they are capable of feeling pain.

“Hearts change when the conversation is about the unborn baby, and hearts are touched when the message is sent home that abortion hurts,” Mrs. Tobias explains. “Abortion hurts mothers, and abortion hurts unborn children who are killed. Behind the headlines about pain-capable children is the message that abortion is not a simple, easy choice; rather, it’s a painful and deadly decision.”

But as the leader of the ultimate grassroots Movement, National Right to Life needs your assistance. The State Organizational Development Department has created resources that will assist you to publicize this most important legislative initiative.

Mrs. Tobias talks about several of those resources today. Petitions are available, both printable versions to circulate in your church, home, and neighborhood, and online versions that you can quickly and easily sign, and even more easily share with all your social networks.

Then there are the brochures detailing the scientific evidence that documents the reality of the pain of the unborn child. “These brochures are great for passing around to friends and family and church members, and vital for any community gathering where you can have a table  with information on abortion and life-affirming alternatives,” she explains. “If your chapter hasn’t yet ordered these brochures, call today to make sure you’re fully stocked. “

None of this would be complete without National Right to Life’s iconic “STOP” signs which, this year, are designed to spread the message of unborn pain. For more information on how to order these signs call 202.378.8843 or email stateod@nrlc.org

Mrs. Tobias ends this edition of PLP with an invitation:

“If you’re planning on attending the March for Life in Washington this year, we would love to hear from you. We always need more volunteers to help distribute signs and help get the message out. But whether you’re in DC for the March, or you’re at a community gathering with just a few people, choose to make a difference this year. Call us today at 202.378.8843 and order these signs that can help make a difference. You never know how one small spark can ignite a thought in someone who has never given much thought to the idea of abortion before. Remind them that abortion hurts. “

As always, you can log onto prolifeperspective.com where we’ve provided this contact information and links to order materials.
