All this week, National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias is joined in studio by Suzanne Schindler, sister of Terri Schindler Schiavo and co-executive director, with her brother, Bobby, of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.  Suzanne is sharing the latest efforts of the Life & Hope Network and the ongoing work to save patients like Terri from death by starvation & dehydration.

The week thus far has centered on the struggle to ensure that no one else suffers Terri’s untimely, tragic, and unnecessary death; on locating “Safe Havens,” a network of hospitals and nursing homes that will adopt the Life & Hope Network’s mission statement, meaning they will not remove food and water to cause death; and Wednesday on “New Beginnings,” a one-of-a-kind facility in Medford, NY, which offers intense rehabilitation to patients just like Terri and even to patients who are in worse condition that Terri.

Today Mrs. Tobias and Suzanne Schindler introduced us to “Terri’s Day,” which takes place on the anniversary of Terri’s death, March 31. The formal designation is the “International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters.”

Suzanne explained that it is a day to remember and to honor people struggling with disabilities, their families, and the staffs that take care of them. Perhaps a Mass could be said, she explained, or, individually, we could pray for vulnerable patients and their loved ones.

Tomorrow, on Part Five, a look at country music star Collin Raye. the new national spokesman for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.
