What’s airing on Pro-Life Perspective Today: “Why Ultrasounds are so threatening to pro-abortionists”
By Dave Andrusko
Yesterday National Right to Life News Today ran two stories about ultrasound legislation. Ultrasounds allow the mother the opportunity to see that there is a real, live human inside her. And when she sees that image, she is far more likely to say “no” to the abortionist and “yes” to life for the child growing inside.
On Wednesday’s edition of Pro-Life Perspective, National Right to Life President and PLP Host Carol Tobias thoughtfully picks apart the reasons behind the pro-abortionist’s hysterical opposition. You can hear her at www.prolifeperspective.com.
One big reason, Mrs. Tobias notes, is that rather than debate the merits, pro-abortionists have tried to make this into a part of a spurious “war on women.” This is sheer nonsense because as she notes
“virtually all abortionists already use transvaginal ultrasound probes. As even Paula Hodges, director of public policy and advocacy at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, has acknowledged, ultrasounds ‘are an integral part of abortion care.’ And the National Abortion Federation called on all abortionists to perform ultrasounds before an abortion.”
Which goes along with a second reason pro-abortionists attack ultrasound legislation, one that is equally political. They attempt to hide the importance of ultrasounds to informed consent by pretending it is just the ‘agenda’ of [fill in the blank]. But objective medical information (in the form of the ultrasound image itself and any accompanying description of the baby) is just that: a recitation of the medical facts.
Mrs. Tobias concludes
“And therein lies the abortion industry’s fear: women rejecting abortion when they learn the truth. The men and women who have become millionaires providing and performing abortions know all too well that as the number of women choose life increases, their financial bottom line will shrink.”
