NARAL offers advice how to talk to friends about Obama over the holiday weekend

NARAL President Nancy Keenan and President Obama

Well, if you’re going to endorse Barack Obama for a second term, it only make sense that NARAL should periodically send out explanations both why it loves the President AND (as a recent blog entry puts it) “How to Talk to Your Friends about Why You Support President Obama”

Indeed, what better time to yammer about the most pro-abortion President ever? Memorial Day is coming up and between grilling the burgers and “chilling” with friends and family somebody may ask you why you support Obama (“You never know when talk of the presidential election will come up – but trust us, you don’t want to miss the chance to talk about voting pro-choice”).

So out comes the list that you can check off with everyone but the “Uncle Marvins of the world–there will always be people who simply don’t share our values of women’s freedom and privacy.” Translated out of abortionspeak, NARAL says Obama supporters should brag about

Obama’s repeal of the Mexico City policy under which funds in the U.S. “population assistance” program went only to overseas organizations that pledged not to “perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning.” The repeal put hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars into the hands of organizations that aggressively promote abortion as a population-control tool in the developing world.

For pledging to veto the “No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act” (H.R. 3). H.R. 3 would codify the principles of the Hyde Amendment on a permanent, government-wide basis, applicable to both longstanding federal health programs and to the new programs created by ObamaCare. Likewise for attacking the Protect Life Act (H.R. 358) which would nullify the multiple abortion-expanding provisions of the ObamaCare.

And for doing everything it can to eliminate conscience protections; for mandating that religious institutions and individuals of conscience pay for health insurance plans that cover medical procedures and drugs contrary to their religious beliefs and consciences; and, of course, for ObamaCare, which will provide funding for health plans that pay for abortion on demand, and will lead to the rationing of lifesaving medical treatments.

But, if you “can’t remember these details” (or that seems a tad heavy for a day at the beach), “that’s okay.”  NARAL advises

“Talk about the importance of keeping government out of personal, private decisions like abortion. Tell them that President Obama believes that this decision should be up to women and their families with their doctor – and that he’ll always stop anti-choice attacks.”

Never mind that few women see the abortionist before going in to end their child’s life (he is a technician, not a “doctor”). Never mind the many dark secrets—the women who are coerced into abortion, the underage girls impregnated by much older men, the 40%+ (and growing) repeat abortion rate, to name just three. And never mind the torture a pain-capable unborn child feels as she is torn limb from limb.

NARAL is right. Keep the truth out of the discussion—on Memorial Day and every other day—at all costs.
