Pro-abortionists Promote “Virtual March”
By Dave Andrusko
Well, it sure beats driving half a day (or more) across icy and snow packed roads like those “anti-choice extremists” do, and who wouldn’t want to avoid all the blood, sweat, and tears it takes to bus people from all over the country to the nation’s capital.
Why bother with logistics and fund-raising and endless hours of preparation when you can have a “virtual march” on Washington?
That’s what a conglomerate of pro-abortion organizations are proposing to do, aided and abetted by their “hosts”—the Trust Women Silver Ribbon Campaign and MoveOn.org.
I received an email blast today from Debra Ness, President of the pro-abortion “National Partnership for women & families,” clueing me into an exertion-free way “to show our strength and advocate for women’s health and reproductive justice.”
Not that there isn’t reason to get your fingers a vigorous workout. What to do when “We continue to face one egregious attack after another, putting us more on the defensive than any time since Roe v. Wade was decided”; when there are daily “new efforts to force dangerous anti-choice ideology into the examination room and deny women the right to make their own medical decisions”; and when “harsh, oppressive, backward laws in too many states” are growing like topsy?
Come to the appointed site where you will sign up with your name and email address and zip code over the message, “I trust women and I vote.”
(They could be a little more careful. If you look underneath that canned response, you find five more equally dull responses, such as “Keep abortion safe and legal [and while you’re at it], and make it accessible and affordable.”
What’s this gonna do? It’ll show “strength,” and it’s implied that “Congress and other elected officials” will realize how determined you are by the 45 seconds it took to sign up.
So while you and I and our pro-life friends may have trudged up Constitution Avenue in the middle of a freezing rain, our pro-abortion counterparts are promised they can be equally effective from the comfort of their couch.
Nice “work,” if you can get it.
