Pro-Life Rep. Michele Bachmann All but Officially Announces Presidential Bid

Michele Bachmann

At the same GOP presidential debate where she firmly but unsurprisingly declared that “I am 100 percent pro-life,” Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) surprised moderator John King when she said, “I filed today my paperwork to seek the office of the presidency of the United States today. And I’ll very soon be making my formal announcement.”

Bachmann, a three-term Congresswoman from the suburban Twin Cities area, posted a YouTube video in which she announced she was running. “This is the first day of taking our country back,” Bachmann said in the video (

Bachmann, who shared the podium with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, businessman Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, was firmly and expansively pro-life in her responses at the two-hour-long debate held in New Hampshire.

“I am 100 percent pro-life,” she said. “I’ve given birth to five babies, and I’ve taken 23 foster children into my home. I believe in the dignity of life from conception until natural death. I believe in the sanctity of human life. And I think the most eloquent words ever written were those in our Declaration of Independence that said it’s a creator who endowed us with inalienable rights given to us from God, not from government. And the beauty of that is that government cannot take those rights away. Only God can give, and only God can take.

“And the first of those rights is life. And I stand for that right. I stand for the right to life. The very few cases that deal with those exceptions are the very tiniest of fraction of cases, and yet they get all the attention. Where all of the firepower is and where the real battle is, is on the general — genuine issue of taking an innocent human life. I stand for life from conception until natural death.“

At the 2011 March for Life, sponsored by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, Bachmann told an audience of 4,000 assembled at the state Capitol that “We are making progress” and that “one thing we have learned is that elections matter.”

Rep. Bachmann concluded, “Your prayers are making a difference.  Don’t give up, stay on your knees, keep praying, keep the positive attitude, keep educating people, and at one point we will come back to these Capitol steps for the biggest praise service you have ever seen, because one day we’ll be there!  Thank you everyone!”

  1. I am not paying fourteen dollars to determine how this magic trick is done. There was a guy that came up to a class of us students at an frozen treats shop last week and ask if any of us had a dime. My good friend gave the man a dime and he brought out a sharpie marker and said to put her initials on the back and front of the coin. He then pulled out a clear balloon out of his pocket and inflated it up. The guy took my pals signed dime and stuck it inside the balloon through the walls. We’re able to see the dime and listen to the dime in the balloon. Amazing. How on earth is one able to do this? Following the magic trick was done he handed my friend the balloon and said to allow the air out of it and to rip it open to see if it absolutely was her signed dime. It was. I stumbled upon a relevant video of the identical trick online. Will someone please inform me the way they accomplish this because I really don’t have $14 to my name.
